Discotheque, the weekly event hosted at Ballantine in Downtown Willoughby, has gotten off to a brilliant start for the season; and it’s only getting better. We will be bringing the party every weekend throughout this Summer to Ballantine, on both Friday and nearly every Saturday with the a full production of lights and sound. Featuring the latest on Top 40/Club Remixes, Electronic Dance Music (EDM) and Throwback Jams, there’s something for everyone. 2011 proved to be a wonderful year in regards to the opportunities and experiences that were presented to me, and I am extremely grateful for this.

Without the help of friends, both old and new, I do not believe any of this would have been possible. I very much enjoyed working with the musicians I was able to work with and furthermore have loved being able to create and develop both Indie Night as well as Discotheque as a DJ in Downtown Willoughby. I can only describe my first year as a DJ as an extremely exciting, invigorating and addicting experience. It’s been a blast to entertain friends, old and new, and a tremendous learning experience at the same time. 

I only hope that some of you were able to enjoy some of these events as much as I have and I look forward to improving and growing as an artist, producer, DJ and person in the upcoming year. I would like to reiterate a fact that has been given clarity upon reflection, that everything I’ve been able to do in the past year has been a result of being honest and respectful to everyone around me. I can only encourage everyone to remain positive and be supportive to those around you while remaining focused on the things you’d like to do and achieve. Hard work and having a good heart pays off.

That said, I look forward to bigger and better achievements in the upcoming year. I hope to get the opportunity to DJ various gigs and allow others hear the various sounds I am loving right now. I look forward to hearing the new music all of my friends are working on and preparing to release. I also look forward to resuming my aspirations to write and create music and how my past couple of years will influence its sound. Finally, I look forward to everyones continued support along the way.

Thank you everyone for allowing 2011 to be the best year that I can ever recall. It has been one of the most successful and exciting years I could of asked for.

Indie Night has found a new home at the 1899 Pub in Historic Downtown Willoughby!

Every Tuesday Night at 10PM, DJ David Beans & DJ William J will take turns spinning the best Indie and Electronic music there is to offer in the upstairs portion of 1899. In even better news, the famous $6 Pitchers of Craft Beer Special will join us as well. 

Indie Night has been a Tuesday Night staple next door at Ballantine since April of 2011. Now we’re moving upstairs to with the best selection and best prices for craft beer anywhere in Downtown Willoughby. This is a free weekly event for everyone 21 and up – so stop by and keep warm upstairs with us to make the winter a little easier.

What is discothèque?

You may have seen an advertisement, Facebook post or blurb on Twitter about ‘discothèque’ taking place EVERY Friday Night at Ballantine in Downtown Willoughby. It’s hard to give a great description of what this is all about in such a short post, so for the curious and interested, this is for you.

discothèque is a mobile dance party, with the aspirations of bringing a new and refreshing experience closer to home. We provide some of the greatest music you’re going to hear in the area including your favorites from the radio, and your new favorites you haven’t even heard of quite yet. From the most popular tunes in the TOP 40 and their danceable remixes to the biggest hits in the electro house/dance scene – this isn’t your normal ‘jukebox’ experience.

Why discothèque?

Aside from the great selection of new, favorites and classic tunes – there’s much more to the experience. This isn’t your usual DJ who plays songs off of their iTunes – we use professional gear aimed at providing seamless transitions to keep the party going. On the fly remixing and mashups will grab and keep your attention. Plus, we’ve got the essential dance party lighting to follow us around as well. We do our best to provide the best club experience for you and your friends – plus, we love what we do. (Oh, and it’s free!).

DJ David Beans and DJ William J hosted another Dance Party on the patio of Ballantine and 1899 this past Friday featuring the best in Top 40, Indie, Electro and Dubstep. The patio was PACKED and the big city downtown experience was brought closer to home – the party returns next Friday from 10PM until 2AM with no cover charge.
